Thousands of Georgia students will delay college or not go at all as the dollars available for the HOPE scholarship continue to deteriorate. It is essential that more revenue be generated to ensure the HOPE scholarship continues to help Georgia students attend college. The HOPE scholarship keeps Georgia’s best and brightest in the state and provides an educated workforce for Georgia’s businesses. The state depends on the scholarship to attract new businesses, as well as keeping existing businesses in Georgia. That’s why the Save The HOPE group was created. We are a group of business leaders in Georgia committed to ensuring the scholarship stays fully funded. This is a community service, volunteer effort designed solely to help Save The HOPE.
Why Save The HOPE? A fully funded HOPE scholarship is essential to provide an educated workforce and a thriving, competitive business environment, according to Bud Carter, founding member of Save The HOPE and senior chairman of Vistage Atlanta. With more than 15,000 members, Vistage is the world’s largest CEO membership organization.
More than 1.4 million students have benefited from The HOPE Scholarship since it was created in 1993. In total, more than $7 billion have been awarded to students who excelled and likely would not have been able to attend college without financial assistance. What will we do once The HOPE Scholarship no longer helps hard working students get the education they deserve?
In addition to funding college education for Georgia students, lottery money also funds the state’s
Pre-Kindergarten program. More than 1.1 million Georgia children have benefited from lottery money by attending Pre-Kindergarten classes. Research has shown that students who attend Pre-Kindergarten are more likely to graduate from high school than students who entered kindergarten directly.
These are the students who will grow up ready to prove themselves in a college setting, and ready to give back to Georgia’s economy. But if they cannot gain access to the education they need, they will never get the chance to reach their full potential.
Join us and ensure Georgia’s bright future. Atlanta interactive marketing agency EverSpark Interactive is just one of many supporters of the Save The HOPE cause. This is a not-for-profit volunteer community effort that depends on you joining other Georgia voters by making your opinion known now.
Join the businesses and individuals who support the education of Georgia’s children and future workforce. Let’s work together to show the decision makers that we support the HOPE scholarship. Encourage those who have the opportunity to provide full funding to take action so that more young Georgians can get a head start on school while others are able to attend colleges and universities here in their own home state.
Save the HOPE. Put away your wallet, we don’t want donations; all we ask is that you please sign our electronic petition and use the email links to let those under the Gold Dome know you want to fully fund and Save The HOPE.
